We are a new type of R&D organization that hires and brings together exceptional researchers across disciplines, who want to pursue important translational science for humanity that cannot be enabled efficiently within traditional institutions.
Inspired by some of history's most unique and productive research environments — like Bell Labs, the Institute for Advanced Study, or Xerox PARC — we bring scientists together in-house, providing the funding, infrastructure and operational support to ensure that their breakthroughs are deployed for real-world impact.
We first and foremost believe in people. We care about their story and motivations for changing the world in a meaningful way through their efforts and research. There is ample brilliance that is not being cultivated in a timely way, such that the global system of scientific production is operating at a fraction of its capacity.

Who We Are
We are a team of scientists, engineers, and builders who believe that much better science can be done for humanity.
Our founders are Louis Andre and Sam Altman.
Our advisors include Susan Alpert, Joe Betts-LaCroix, Matthew Botvinick, George Church, Peter Dayan, Andrew Farnum, Eric Leuthardt, Michael McCullough, Priyamvada Natarajan, Andrew Pelling, Pamela Silver, and others, united to maximize the impact of great science.
